Systems Worth Building
Systems Worth Building holds proposals for durable, repairable public-interest systems. Aletheia's replacement-first approach asks what can be built and maintained locally, which dependency it reduces, who can inspect it, and what evidence would show that it works. A proposal here is not a deployed service.
First proposal test
[edit]- What would make a water resilience pilot credible? — a bounded end use, monitoring plan, stop conditions, and competing case for a rapid demonstrator.
Proposed directions
[edit]| Direction | Current status | Evidence needed |
|---|---|---|
| Water resilience | Long-range concept | A bounded site and need, water-quality and safety requirements, local operations plan, measured pilot, and maintenance ownership. |
| Sea Warden | Aspirational concept; no demonstrated fleet in the current record | A defined mission, environmental and maritime review, prototype, operating limits, and independently inspectable results. |
| Citadel | Unconstructed concept | A scoped design, land and governance assumptions, safety case, budget, and testable phased milestones. |
| Legacy / Nest | Planned | A defined use case, privacy model, working prototype, and documented user testing. |
| Omni-Industrial / Omni-Process | Proposed | A bounded industrial use case, hazard analysis, and measured pilot. |
The status entries reflect the project record reviewed on 30 October 2026. No partnership, public agency adoption, certification, construction, or deployment is implied. Plans should be updated when evidence changes.
Proposal checklist
[edit]- Name the problem and who experiences it; compare current options and a serious counterproposal.
- State the smallest safe pilot, decision owner, expected cost, and maintenance burden.
- Make technical dependencies, data flows, replacement parts, and failure modes visible.
- Identify legal, environmental, safety, and community constraints early.
- Define measurable success and a stop rule before calling a pilot a solution.
- Record unsuccessful tests and revisions at Open Research and Aletheia:Corrections log.
Governance proposals
[edit]Aletheia's proposed safeguards include transparent decisions, clear stewardship, and routes for correcting errors. These are design aims, not an adopted governing institution. Any future organization should publish its actual charter, decision rights, conflicts policy, and evidence of adoption before this page treats those safeguards as operating rules.
