Research nugget format

From Aletheia Knowledge Network

Research nugget format is a compact record for a testable piece of knowledge. Copy the headings to a new page and replace prompts with observations and sources. A blank field is an open question, not a result.

Question and scope

[edit]

What exact question is being tested? Give the model, version, setting, date, and boundary of the claim.

Prior record

[edit]

Link primary sources, existing designs, and contrary evidence. Separate what a source says from your interpretation.

Method

[edit]

Describe materials, configuration, steps, measurements, controls, and safety limits so a qualified reader can reproduce the test. Withhold security-sensitive operational details pending responsible disclosure.

Observation

[edit]

Record raw results, failures, sample size, and uncertainty. Say who observed them and whether an independent team repeated the method.

Competing explanation

[edit]

Give the strongest alternative cause or interpretation. What observation would separate it from the favored explanation?

Conclusion and next test

[edit]

State only what the observations support. Assign a dated evidence status and name the next discriminating test. Link any material correction to Aletheia:Corrections log.
